I just came back from Phuket's vegetarian festival. It was one of the most amazing festival I've seen. I'm definitely going back again!
I was there from 20th Oct to 24 Oct. The last day of the festival was on the 23 Oct (the ninth day of the ninth moon in the Chinese Lunar Calendar). Originally, I wanted to go there for vegetarian food. But I was surprised by the festivities around the religious processions. The amount of fire crackers burnt was amazing. Even when I was young and fire crackers were not outlawed in Malaysia, I don't remember that much fire crackers being left off during Chinese New Year.
